Mandatory US Visa Entry Requirements - ESTA
The US Department of Homeland Security requires all visitors to a US airport, a cruise ship in US waters, or a coach entering the USA, to receive a formal travel authorisation at least 72 hours prior to their departure.

Please ensure you apply via the website https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/ otherwise you will not be able to board a flight, coach or ship into the USA. Any Guest who presents themselves to the United States Customs & Border Protection (USCBP) and has not previously completed their ESTA online (US Travel Authorisation or Visa) will be turned away and denied boarding their cruise.

Evergreen Cruises & Tours will not be liable for any costs or cancellation penalties or inconvenience where travellers do not have a travel authorisation, and are not permitted to travel. Evergreen Cruises & Tours cannot apply for these travel authorisations.

Please note: A US Travel Authorisation or Visa is required for all clients that are cruising Alaska/Canada, or stopping in the US either for an extended stay, or transiting via a US city for onward travel - ie flights transferring in any US city.

Please go to the above website for more information.

Mandatory Canada's Electronic Travel Authorization - eTA
Under Canada's eTA program, citizens from countries other than the United States, who do not need a visa to enter Canada, will need to obtain an online authorization before flying to Canada, unless otherwise exempted.

This new entry requirement is mandatory for all travellers entering Canada from the 15 March, 2016. Beginning on 1 August, 2015, eligible travellers will have the opportunity to go online and apply for their eTA. The earlier travellers get their eTA, the sooner they will benefit from knowing they have been pre-screened to enter Canada.

eTA is not a new concept: both the U.S. and Australia have already implemented similar programs, so many travellers are already familiar with this type of entry requirement.

Canada is making every effort to ensure that eTA does not greatly inconvenience affected travellers. The application process will be quick and easy at a low cost of only $7 Canadian, and the eTA will be valid for up to five years.

Travellers will apply online, providing basic personal information similar to what is currently collected when they arrive in Canada. eTA is convenient and paperless, which means most visa-exempt nationals who wish to travel to Canada will have their eTA granted within minutes of applying. Having obtained an eTA, travellers to Canada can expect faster service upon arrival at the border.

For further information, please go to www.canada.ca/eTA
