Day 1: On arrival at the Norfolk Island airport, your driver will meet you for direct transfers to your four-star resort. Check in, unwind with a hot shower and get ready for five wonderful days. Your holiday has officially begun!
Days 2-5: This holiday package gives you three great tours of the island right off the bat. The first is a half-day island tour, which is great for first timers and a ‘refresher course’ for returning visitors. The tour goes through the main attractions of the island, what’s famous and worthy of checking out. We recommend this tour as travellers can start forming a list of ‘things to do on this holiday’. Following your tour, we recommending using the complimentary car hire service and take a leisurely drive around the island.
The second tour is a visit to world-famous author Colleen McCullough’s home. This island and its views is a serene haven where this illustrious Australian author penned scores of her novels; it's a surefire treat for all literature buffs.
The third tour delves deep into the island's history with an afternoon trip to the Pitcairn Settlers’ village. Your tour guide will take you through the original Bailey homestead, its attached gardens, the barn dairy, and other outbuildings. The museum in the village is filled with memorabilia; and you’ll also visit the oldest working forge in the South Pacific there, too. Also included is a visit to an ex-New Zealand Army hut with wartime memorabilia.
Aside from the above, there’s simply so much to see, do, eat and explore on Norfolk Island! Swim in crystal-clear seas, take a glass-bottom boat tour of the reefs, enjoy some high tea luncheons at Forrester Court.... the choice is yours.
We highly recommend securing a ticket to the long-running historical play ‘The Trial of the 15’ – it’s a searing performance and offers a glimpse into the island’s colourful and riotous history.
Anglers and fishing enthusiasts will find much to love on Norfolk. Take one of the island's many fishing charters and you'll be reeling in yellow-fin tuna, mackerel, tope and more!
Day 6: It's time to check out and take your friendly drop-off to the airport. Fly home safe and do come back again!
About Norfolk Island:
Norfolk Island is a remote isle in the Pacific Ocean, set between Australia, New Caledonia and New Zealand. Beautiful rolling plains, forest-covered hills, long swathes of beaches and a rich history make this destination much sought-after. Its small, close-knit community of locals, plenty of activities, experiences and cultural events keep Norfolk lively at all hours.
As a former penal colony, history buffs would love the years of history preserved in the museums in Kingston. As the same time, there is plenty to shop as Norfolk doesn’t have as many taxes as Australia and New Zealand – so have at it! Wining and dining are excellent here too, from budget outlet to fine dining restaurants with great views of the coast, it’s all there for the choosing. Keep an eye out for daily events – there’s so much to see, do and experience while in Norfolk!
