Day 1: Port Augusta
Your Eyre Peninsula adventure kicks off in Adelaide, where you’ll pick up your rental car and hit the road for a 3-hour drive towards Port Augusta. Wind your way north, the coastal vistas unfolding like a turquoise ribbon, where your home for the next two nights awaits – the stylish Majestic Oasis Apartments.
Day 2: Port Augusta
Today is your day of leisure to explore the ‘cross-roads of Australia’ and its surrounds.
Wander the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden: Immerse yourself in the sounds and scents of Australia’s arid heart in this distinctive 250-hectare botanic garden. Discover the exceptional arid-zone plant collections, peruse the gift shop and unwind in the garden cafe with a delicious homestyle meal.
Other activities that are worth checking out include visiting the RSL Military Museum or the art galleries of Platform Art Gallery and Yarta Purtli Gallery.
Day 3: Port Lincoln
During the 3.5-hour drive along the coast to Port Lincoln, stop at the picturesque seaside towns of Arno Bay and Tumby Bay.
On arrival at Port Lincoln, consider taking a trip along the deserted beaches in Lincoln National Park. Here you can also journey back in time at Memory Cove, where ancient Aboriginal rock paintings whisper tales of forgotten lives. Climb the weathered granite boulders and feel the weight of history beneath your feet.
As the sun paints the sky in golden hues, drive up the Winter Hill Lookout for jaw-dropping panoramas of Boston Bay before enjoying a delicious dinner at a local pub or restaurant.
Day 4: Coffin Bay Tour
Today you will embark on a Full Day Coffin Bay Tour. Roam white sandy beaches in Coffin Bay National Park, enjoy a gourmet seafood lunch at 1802 Oyster Bar & Restaurant, sample Boston Bay Wines overlooking the bay, encounter iconic Australian wildlife in the wild and unearth the real Eyre Peninsula with your expert local guide.
Day 5: Port Lincoln
Delight in a scenic coastal drive, taking in the breathtaking views of Boston Bay. Engage in a relaxed fishing experience or sit back in one of the cellar doors or breweries. Wander the marina or enjoy a laidback cruise and learn about Port Lincoln and the largest commercial fishing fleet in the Southern Hemisphere. Cap off the day with a delightful seafood dinner, savouring the region's culinary delights.
Day 6: Departure
Today is your last day. Check out of your accommodation and make your way back to Adelaide where you will return your rental car and continue to your next journey.
