DAY 1 - Sunday - Depart for Hungary

DAY 2 - Monday - Arrive in Budapest
Arrive in Budapest, the capital city of Hungary that straddles the Danube River, with the Buda Hills to the west and Pest to the east and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure. This evening at approximately 6 pm, enjoy a Welcome Drink and Dinner along with an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager and fellow travellers. We recommend that you select flights which arrive in your destination no later than 4 pm on Day 2 of the itinerary, or earlier if possible

DAY 3 - Tuesday - Budapest City Tour
Take a morning city tour of Budapest. Begin in Pest and continue to view the Parliament, Heroes' Square, and Market Hall before crossing the Danube to the Buda Hills. There, see the Royal Palace, visit Matthias Church and continue to the Fisherman's Bastion for enthralling panoramic views of the city. Afternoon is at leisure, or join the optional tour to the Parliament* with its stunning interior and the impressive St. Stephen's Basilica, the largest church in Budapest. End the tour with a walk through the historic Great Market Hall with its over 100 market stalls and endless choices of regional products. This evening, perhaps join the optional Danube dinner cruise and take in the spectacular skyline from the comfort of a private boat
*Be advised that you might not be able to book this optional tour locally, due to certain restrictions regarding the Parliament.

DAY 4 - Wednesday - Vienna City Tour
Depart Hungary and travel through the Austrian countryside to Vienna, former centre of the Hapsburg Empire. Upon arrival in Vienna, enjoy a panoramic tour of the city that begins with a drive along the Ringstrasse, Vienna's main boulevard, to view Hofburg Palace, the Opera House, the monument of Empress Maria Theresia, Votive Church, City Hall, Parliament, St. Charles' Church, the monument of Johann Strauss, the Museum of Art History, the Natural History Museum, and Musikverein, the music hall of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Afterwards, continue to magnificent Schonbrunn Palace for a highlight tour. Tonight, don’t miss the optional evening of Viennese culture in the "City of Music” featuring the classical masterpieces of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss, two of Vienna's most famous citizens

DAY 5 - Thursday - Full Day in Vienna
Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Vienna independently. As European cultural capital, Vienna abounds with stunning palaces, historical monuments, fascinating museums, and some of the world's best concert performances, ranging from classical masterpieces to lively jazz fusion. Perhaps, participate in the optional morning tour to Bratislava, capital of Slovakia, one of Europe’s newest capitals with time to explore the historic centre of this charming city before returning to Vienna. Tonight, feel the spirit of imperial Vienna in a cosy wine tavern in the Vienna woods including a hearty meal, local wines and music

DAY 6 - Friday - Arrive in Prague
This morning, depart Austria for the Czech Republic. Enjoy the sights of Central Europe during your journey. Make your way through Southern Bohemia and on to the Czech capital city, Prague - "The City of a Thousand Spires"

DAY 7 - Saturday - Prague City Tour
A morning sightseeing tour of Prague includes a visit to the Royal Castle District at Hradcany, former residence of the Bohemian kings. Enjoy magnificent views of the city and Charles Bridge below as well as a visit to St. Vitus Cathedral. Following your visit, view St. George's Basilica, the oldest church in the Castle complex and best preserved Romanesque basilica in Prague. This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant in this gorgeous city known for its stunning Gothic and Renaissance architecture

DAY 8 - Sunday - Depart the Czech Republic

Location: Centrally located, this hotel is within walking distance of many sites and attractions. The Blaha Lujza tér metro station is about a five minute walk away. The Hungarian State Opera House is within a mile walk, and St. Stephen's Basilica is about a mile walk away.

Restaurants: The hotel provides an on-site bar, cafe and a restaurant offering a selection of international dishes as well as traditional Hungarian cuisine.

This first class hotel is located just perfectly. It's just a five-minute walk to the Naschmarkt and the tempting delights of its 170 stands.

Guest Rooms: The guest rooms are comfortable and in good condition with modern decor and furniture. All rooms are non-smoking rooms.

Location: The hotel is located a short walk from the Pilgramgasse U-Bahn station. Naschmarkt is about a half mile walk away. The Secession Building, home of the city's art nouveau or Secessionist movement, and the Ringstrasse are a short drive away.

Restaurants: The hotel provides a buffet breakfast in the Restaurant Sonnenhof and Wintergarten for guests. Visit the Café Bar Restaurant "Johann Strauss" for a cup of coffee or an apple strudel.

• Jurys Inn Prague, Prague (4-star)

This first class hotel is located within walking distance of Republic Square.

Guest Rooms: Guest rooms are spacious and decorated with contemporary furnishings. All rooms feature amenities for a comfortable stay, such as complimentary WiFi, an in-room safe and a mini refrigerator.

Location: The hotel is about a half mile walk from Republic Square. Old Town and Charles Bridge are about a ten minute ride away. Wenceslas Square is two underground stops away. The hotel is just across from the Florence underground station providing convenient access to destinations throughout the city.

Restaurants: The restaurant serves local and international cuisine in a casual atmosphere. The hotel has an all day coffee bar for drinks, pastries and snacks. The hotel bar serves a variety of drinks and cocktails.

Is This Trip Right for You?

This moderately active trip covers a fair amount of ground each day. Expect from three to four hours walking every touring day. The pace is moderate, however you will encounter some uneven surfaces, stairs, steps and significant slopes. This is an Off Season program.
