Cataract Gorge Reserve, Launceston's own piece of wilderness just 15 minutes walk from the city centre. The Cataract Gorge Reserve, originally developed by the Launceston City and Suburbs Improvement Association in the late 1800s, was handed over to the Launceston City Council in 1898. It features Victorian gardens in a bushland setting and is one of Tasmania's most popular tourist destinations. Here you'll find walking and hiking trails, the world's longest single span chairlift, swimming pool, restaurant, kiosk, cafe, peacocks and wildlife, beautiful gardens, suspension bridge, inclination for easy access, Interpretation Centre and panoramic lookouts with spectacular views.

Launceston City Park, is located in the heart of Launceston. This beautiful parkland features mature trees and shrubs, a display of annual flowers, a Japanese Macaque monkey enclosure, the John Hart Conservatory, a duck pond, senses garden, monuments, chess board, historic Albert Hall, barbecue area and a children's playground. City Park was once called the 'People's Park', which reflects how the park has been viewed by the people of Launceston since its beginnings. The Macaque Monkey Enclosure is open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (April - September) and 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (October - March). The John Hart Conservatory is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and weekends from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm (April - September) and from 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (October - March).

Boags Brewery, discover the ultimate beer lover's experience; take a tour James Boag’s Historic Brewery in Launceston, Tasmania. Tours start and finish at the Boag’s Center for Beer Lovers; situated in the historic Tamar Hotel, open Monday to Saturday. The centre features three floors of Boag’s Museum and brewing memorabilia and houses the official Boag’s merchandise store.

National Automobile Museum, Come and experience the history, elegance and style of one of Australia's most significant motoring collections. Spanning over one hundred years of style and technical achievement this impressive collection of traditional and contemporary marques is a must see for all those who appreciate history, design, engineering and style. Entally Estate, is one of the finest historic homes in Tasmania. The Estate consists of Entally House and historic buildings including Australia's oldest Conservatory, Chapel, Stables, Carriage House and Farmyard. Only 15 minutes drive from Launceston where you can tour the historic home and gardens, taste wine from the vineyard and enjoy a delightful Devonshire Tea.
