From Bedouin camps to Crusader castles, the sunny sands of Jordan, Israel and Palestine are steeped in history, this immersive two week journey through these ancient lands gives you an inside perspective on the many cultures that call this beautiful region home.
Days 1-2: Fly to Amman
Fly to Amman, arriving late the next day. You will be met and transferred to your hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 3: Jerash Chariot Race
Today head out 35km of Amman to the small city of As- Salt, where you will enjoy a city tour. Following your visit, hop back in your vehicle for the drive to Jerash, a ancient Roman city known as the Pompeii of the East. Here you will learn about the city's past before watching a favoured Roman pastime; chariot racing.
Continue your tour of Jerash followed by a short drive to the town of Ajloun. Here you will visit a the fortress of Qa'lat Al Rabad, overlooking the Jordan Valley. After, head back to Amman to enjoy some downtime before dinner this evening
Day 4 : Amman
Enjoy a tour of the old the Citadel city of Amman this morning, exploring and Roman Amphitheatre.
After your tour, head out of the city for a visit to some of Jordan's Desert Castles. They are beautiful examples of early Islamic art and architecture. See the stunning artwork in UNESCO World Heritage Site of Qasr.
Amra, Al Kharranah Palace and Azraq Castle. Return to Amman this afternoon for a visit to a Nai a traditional making workshop; Jordanian musical instrument. Under the tutelage of a local expert, you will learn how to make your own instrument.
Day 5 : Amman Mount Nebo . Madaba Petra
VAf ter breakfast, you will make your way to Mount Nebo, the site of Moses' Tomb. From there, Moses viewed the promised land in Canaan and died there before being buried in a nearby village. Here there are ruins of 4th and 5thCentury churches whose floors are still covered with marvellous and intricate mosaics. Continue to the town of Madaba where you will visit the Orthodox Church of St George and the Madaba Mosaic Map, the oldest surviving depiction of the Holy Land. After your visit to Madaba, you will travel on to magnificent Petra.
Day 6 : Petra
This morning you will marvel at the beauty of the ‘Lost City’, exploring its many caves and tombs. Surrounded by mountains and approached through a imposing deep, narrow cleft in the rocks known as the Siq, Petra is a unique and unforgettable place and, enhanced by the play of light and shadow, an altogether overwhelming experience. to yourself You have the afternoon before your evening tour of Petra.
Day 7 : Wadi Rum
Following a visit to Little Petra, transfer to Wadi Rum; the Valley of the Moon. Here you will find adventure and feel the romance of the Arabian d esert. Wadi Rum is like a moonscape of ancient valleys and towering weathered sandstone mountains rising out of white and pink coloured sands. Explore Lawrence’s road, visiting the most spectacular sights of Wadi Rum. Drive among canyons wit sand dunes and h graffiti inscriptions and venture through the dry oasis, exploring the most interesting and exciting sites of Wadi Rum. This evening you will stay in a unique desert camp.
Day 8: Float In The Dead Sea
Depart the desert camp and journey to the Dead Sea, an inland saltwater lake between Jordan and Israel. As the lowest body of water on Earth, the high level of salinity allows one to float while the minerals are beneficial to your skin. You will have the afternoon to explore the surrounding area.
Day 9: Travel To Tel Aviv
Transfer from the Dead Sea to Tel Aviv by road. On arrival you will check into your hotel and have time to relax.
Day 10: Travel To Galilee
The day begin's with exploring Jaffa, the world's oldest active harbour. Continue to Caesarea to view the fascinating Roman ruins. Visit the Druze Villages on the slopes of Mount Carmel before a stop at the street bazaars to interact with the local community, then drive to Mukhraga for a view of the Holy Land. Finish the day in Nazareth.
Day 11: Galilee
Visit Kibbutz Degania B to learn about its development, before continuing to Tabgha, the site of the miracle of the Loaves and Fishes. Head to Capernaum to visit the remains of Ancient Synagogue and House of St Peter. Mount of Beatitudes is where the Sermon on the Mount took place and visit a hilltop town with a rich heritage of Jewish mysticism before driving to Acre (Akko) to visit the Crusader Fortress. Later return to Nazareth
Day 12: The Dead Sea
Drive through the scenic Jordan Valley, into Palestinian Territory, to Qasr El Yahud the original site of Jesus' baptism. Continue to Jericho where you will visit Quarental monastery. After lunch drive to the Dead Sea, where floating in the mineral-rich waters is the perfect end to this day.
Day 13: Bethlehem
Drive to Masada this morning where you will take a cable car to the top of Masada Fortress, where as well as the wonderful view, you will learn of the last stand by Jewish rebels against the Romans. Continue to Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered and enjoy lunch. You will continue your journey to Bethlehem, in Palestinian Territory, for a one night stay. Enjoy a Palestinian dancing show during dinner this evening.
Day 14: Bethlehem & Jerusalem
Discover the holy Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, birthplace of Jesus and one of the most holy and significant Christian sites in the world. Later, travel to Jerusalem for an exploration of this holy city. Begin with a visit to Temple Mount, the famous building of the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aksa Mosque. Continue to the Western Wall, the holiest place of Judaism, and head underground to see the original foundations built by King Herod.
Day 15: Garden Of Gethsemane
Head out of the city to Mount Zion to visit the Cenacle, King David's Tomb and Dormition Abbey. After lunch continue to Mount of Olives to visit Pater Noster Church and the Church of Ascension, and admire the impressive view over the Holy City. Visit the garden of Gethsemane, the site of Jesus' arrest by the Romans before his crucifixion. End the day with a Shabbat dinner prepared by a local Rabbi.
Days 16-17: Fly To Australia
Fly to Australia, arriving home the following day.

Your accommodation is selected for convenience of location, comfort or character, and can range from a business hotel in one city to a family run guesthouse in a smaller town. Hotels used in Jordan and Israel are generally rated as local four-star standard. All group tour hotels have private western bathroom facilities, air conditioning, TV and telephone. You will also stay in a desert camp in Wadi Rum, with electricity and an en-suite bathroom. Plumbing and electricity supplies can be erratic and occasionally the power in hotel rooms is turned off while guests are out of the room.
