Day 1 Monday
Arrival at Broken Hill
Make your own way to Broken Hill. On arrival, you will be met by your Host and escorted to your accommodation. Hotel: Old Willyama Motor Inn or Silver Haven Motor Inn (or similar)
Day 2 Tuesday
City Sights, Heritage Tour, Geo Centre & Sunset Sculptures Symposium
Take a step back in time and explore Australia's first heritage-listed city, showcasing Broken Hill's rich history. Visit the Miner’s Memorial, located at the highest point of the Line of Lode offering panoramic views of the city's architecture. Next, we’ll visit the Geo Centre, where you can see a 42kg silver nugget and learn about the importance of mining to the town. After that, we’ll take a break before heading to the famous Sculpture Symposium to watch the breathtaking sunset. Meals included: light breakfast & dinner.
Day 3 Wednesday
Menindee & Kinchega National Park
This leisurely tour takes you around the Menindee Lakes scheme, with scenic stops along the way at Menindee and Kinchega National Park (weather permitting). The highlight of the trip is a wetlands cruise on the River Lady, where you'll get up close and personal with the abundant wildlife that calls this area home. Meals included: light breakfast & dinner.
Day 4 Thursday
Silverton Ghost Town & Taste of the Artback
After breakfast, we'll head off to Australia's liveliest ghost town. This is a must-see destination for any movie buff or history lover. You'll be able to explore craft centres, galleries, and museums, as well as the iconic Silverton Hotel, with time for a bite to eat (own expense). In the afternoon, we'll take a tour of some of the local art galleries. Broken Hill is famous for its vibrant art scene, and you'll be able to see first hand what all the fuss is about. You'll be blown away by the talent and creativity on display here. Meals included: light breakfast & dinner.
Day 5 Friday
Royal Flying Doctor Service, Sulphide St Railway & Historical Centre, & Palace Hotel
We begin our day with a visit to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, here we’ll explore the vital role they play in delivering medical care to remote communities. Next, we’ll head to the Sulphide St Railway & Historical Centre, where we’ll uncover the rich cultural diversity that laid the foundation of Broken Hill. You’ll also have the chance to explore mineral and hospital collections and enjoy some interactive fun with the train exhibits. We’ll wrap up the day with a meal at the iconic Palace Hotel, famously featured in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. For those feeling lucky, you can try your hand at a game of two-up—Broken Hill is the only place where you can legally play this game on a regular basis. So, join the locals and give it a spin! Meals included: light breakfast & dinner.
Day 6 Saturday
Free Day
Today, you’ll have the freedom to explore this remarkable part of Australia at your own pace. For a glimpse into the lives of early miners, venture underground at the historic Day Dream Mine. Discover the rugged escarpments, mineral-rich springs, and ancient Aboriginal rock art at Mutawintji National Park. Or, if you prefer a more relaxed day, enjoy a round of golf, join the locals fr a leisurely game of bowls, or catch the local bus to the iconic Bells Milk Bar for a delicious, nostalgic milkshake. Meals included: light breakfast.
Day 7 Sunday
Overnight White Cliffs

After breakfast bid farewell to your fellow travellers as your holiday to Outback NSW comes to an end. You will be transferred to your departure point. Meals included: light breakfast.

BY ROAD
- from Sydney drive time is approx 13 hours (1,134km). The most direct route is via Blue Mountains to Mudgee, Dubbo, Nyngan, Cobar and Wilcannia.
- from Melbourne drive time is approx 9 hours (840km). Take the Calder Highway to Mildura then continue through to Wentworth onto Broken Hill.
- from Adelaide drive time is approx 6 hours (517km). Follow the M2 onto the Barrier Highway A32 which will take you through Gawler and Burra.
Broken Hill has an arid desert climate. Winters are relatively cool; while summers are mostly hot and dry. Summer averages maximum 33°C climbing to over 38°C approx 10 days a year. Winter averages maximum 16°C during the day with cold, frosty nights. Rainfall averages approx 20mm per month.
For the most part, this tour is accessible to all clients. However, guests will encounter uneven, rocky grounds or dirt tracks when visiting some attractions.
- The longest distance covered on this tour is approximately 400 metres.
- The path leading to the Lady River Cruise is a steep decline.
- The Underground Mine tour is not suitable for wheelie walkers or mobility scooters.
- Wheelie walkers and mobility scooters can be accommodated in the undercarriage of the coach, provided it folds.
- Coaches operating these tours do not have disabled access. Drivers may be able to assist, at their own discretion (not guaranteed).
