Day 1: Sunday

Depart on the Tilt Train rail journey to Central Queensland and the Great Southern Barrier Reef. Upon arrival in Rockhampton, you will be met by our local driver / guide and transferred by coach for the 45 minute drive to your accommodation at Bayview Tower Yeppoon. On arrival, enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine and a cheese plate on your balcony while listening to the relaxing sounds of the ocean and local wildlife.

Day 2: Monday

After a tasty breakfast, enjoy a leisurely tour of the Capricorn Coast, taking in sights of Bluff Rock and the beauty of Causeway Lake. We will visit Shell World. Wreck Point Scenic Lookout and the Singing Ship — it really sings! From this picturesque vantage point, we will wander down to Emu Park War Memorial to walk along the powerful and thoughtfully designed ANZAC Memorial Walk. This coastal path features interpretive artworks that tell the story of Australia’s military history, from the outbreak of World War I to major battles like Gallipoli, Lone Pine, the Somme, and Fromelles. Morning tea will be served at a local café. Arrive back at Bayview Tower in time for lunch (own expense) and relaxation before meeting at the onsite restaurant to enjoy light entertainment with The Bush Poet followed by dinner. Included Meals: Breakfast, Morning tea & Dinner 

Day 3: Tuesday

After breakfast, depart from reception to visit Capricorn Caves in Rockhampton. Experience Queensland's oldest playground - 400 million years in the making. Included is the 45-minute Cathedral Cave Tour, where you’ll explore ancient limestone formations, hear stories of early explorers, and discover the unique wildlife that call the caves home. Led by knowledgeable local guides, this tour also showcases the remarkable natural acoustics inside the cave. Enclosed shoes are recommended. Lunch will be at The Caves Country Pub. Tonight, enjoy a 3-course meal and show at Footlights Theatre & RestaurantIncluded Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner 

Day 4: Wednesday

After a hot breakfast, explore the rich architectural heritage of Rockhampton, including The Walter Reid Building, Customs House and City Hall. Next is a visit to Archer Park Rail Museum. Showcasing Central Queensland’s rail history, explore fascinating heritage exhibit, brought to life through immersive soundscapes and engaging displays including the rare Purrey Steam Tram. Morning tea is included. After lunch (own expense), marvel at original and reproduction buildings as well as memorabilia and artefacts portraying life in the region from the 1850s to the 1950s at Rockhampton Heritage Village. Experience life before electricity, view the many vintage and horse drawn vehicles on display, watch how a 1950s print press works, visit the Blacksmith Shop and take in the traditional skills from a bygone era. Included is a tram ride around the village. Dinner tonight will be served onsite at the hotel. Included Meals: Breakfast & Dinner 

Day 5: Thursday

After breakfast, Travel north to discover Byfield National Park and the rare Byfield Fern which only grows in this area. Experience the natural beauty of Waterpark Farm aboard the electric-powered vessel, “Water Dance”. Drift along Waterpark Creek, pass through the Byfield Rainforest and see the stunning native fauna and flora. Look out for the Byfield Fern, Azure Kingfisher, Water Dragons and the Krefft's River turtle and learn more about the history of this area. Lunch at Byfield Store (own expense). Late afternoon meet at the restaurant for drinks (own expense) and light entertainment with Ken followed by dinner. Included Meals: Breakfast & Dinner 

Day 6: Friday

A light continental breakfast will be served before the transfer back to Rockhampton Station to catch the Tilt Train home. Included Meals: Breakfast

The following Concession Card holders are eligible to four (4) rail entitlements each calendar year to travel on long-distance services across Queensland.

  • Queensland Pensioner Card (PCC) issued by Services Australia or Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA)
  • Australian Government DVA Health Card endorsed as WAR WIDOW / WIDOWER (Queensland residents only)
  • Spouse / Partner of a Totally and Permanently Incapacitated (TPI) or Extreme Disability Adjustment (EDA) Veteran travel pass holder with a confirmation letter stating they are a Queensland resident.

Note: eligible passengers must have a valid physical or digital Concession Card or letter at the time of ticketing and during travel. A non-refundable administration fee of $25 applies per entitlement utilised.
