Located on Queen Elizabeth Ave, the resort is just a short drive or walk from the main township of Burnt Pine and features 55 individual one-bedroom cabins set amongst 12 acres of subtropical gardens, offering peace, privacy and tranquillity. This morning you’ll join the Island Life Tour, a fascinating introduction to modern life on Norfolk Island. Travel by coach around the island while your local guide shares insights into the island’s history, culture, ethnic groups, nationalities and unique Norfolk language. Morning tea is included, followed by lunch at the Boatshed Restaurant at Governor’s Lodge. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure. You may wish to explore the local shops in Burnt Pine. Norfolk Island is both duty-free and GST-free, with over 50 locally owned stores selling everything from cosmetics and jewellery to artwork, clothing and sporting goods. Late this afternoon, enjoy a complimentary beverage as you participate in a Norfolk Language Class. This morning, discover the fascinating history of the Pitcairn settlers during a visit to Pitcairn Settlers Village. Explore the original Bailey homestead and gardens before wandering through the barn, dairy and outbuildings. Visit the museum, filled with nostalgic and historic items including the oldest working forge in the Pacific, as well as a former New Zealand Army hut featuring wartime memorabilia. Your visit concludes with an exclusive Norfolk Island film presentation and complimentary refreshments. This afternoon, experience the beauty beneath Norfolk’s crystal-clear waters on a Glass Bottom Boat Tour. From the beach jetty (no wet shoes required), board the boat for an informative and entertaining cruise over stunning coral gardens and marine habitats. This morning is yours to enjoy at leisure. Perhaps relax by the pool at your hotel or ask your Tour Leader for a transfer to beautiful Emily Bay for a swim or some sightseeing. Return to the hotel in time to celebrate Christmas with the group at a Festive Buffet Lunch in the Boatshed Restaurant. Enjoy a wonderful selection of salads, breads, antipasto, cheeses and cold cuts, along with hot dishes including ham, fish, beef, turkey, seafood and seasonal vegetables. The afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the peaceful island atmosphere. This evening, a two-course dinner will be served at Governor's Lodge.
This morning, enjoy a delicious Devonshire Tea at Hilli Restaurant & Cafe before visiting the famous Fletcher’s Mutiny Cyclorama. This incredible 360-degree panoramic painting brings to life the story of the Bounty mutiny and the history of the Norfolk Island people. Featuring realistic 3D effects and immersive storytelling, the Cyclorama has amazed visitors with its impressive “wow” factor for many years. The afternoon is at leisure. Tonight, take a short stroll across the road to Hilli Restaurant for a delicious two-course dinner. “Hilli” means “to relax” in the Norf’k language — the perfect description for this charming local restaurant.
This morning, your Tour Leader will transfer the group to the Bounty Folk Museum, a fascinating treasure trove of Norfolk Island history. The museum tells the remarkable story of the island - from the harsh convict era to the survival of the Bounty mutineers and their Tahitian wives. Browse through an extensive collection of artefacts, handwritten research books and historical displays that provide insight into both major historical events and everyday island life. The afternoon is at leisure. This evening, enjoy a delicious two-course dinner at Paradise Hotel.
This morning, discover the natural beauty and geological wonders of Norfolk Island on the Naturally Norfolk Tour. Learn about the island’s volcanic origins dating back more than three million years as you explore dramatic cliffs, basalt formations and rugged coastal scenery. Your expert guide will introduce you to the island’s unique flora and fauna, including native and endemic trees, plants, palms, ferns and flowers, as well as the iconic Norfolk Island Pine. Keep an eye out for local and migratory birdlife, including the endangered Norfolk Island Green Parrot. You’ll also gain insight into the rich marine life surrounding the island. Governor's Lodge Resort Hotel
Enjoy 7 nights of serene comfort in a one bedroom cabin with balcony. Set amongst 12 acres of subtropical gardens, this accommodation offers the perfect retreat, combining modern amenities with the charm of nature. Each cabin is thoughtfully designed with a spacious bedroom, cozy living area, kitchenette and a private balcony where you can unwind and soak in the peaceful surroundings. Onsite facilities including two restaurants, a café, swimming pool, heated spa, tour desk and hire car services.
A reasonable level of fitness is required for some activities provided in this package, including embarking and disembarking of aircraft which may be by stairs on the tarmac. Other examples include (not limited to) embarking and disembarking coaches, vehicles, boats, jetty or beaches. It is your responsibility to advise any mobility constraints at time of booking.
Flight departs from the international terminal. It is recommended to arrive at least 2 hours prior to departure. Photographic ID such as an Australian Driver Licence or Proof of Age card, is required (including for children). Passports are not required when travelling from Australia but are recommended.
Luggage allowance
Norfolk Island has 4G coverage however at times you may not be able to use the Internet. Most accommodation properties have a “HotSpot” on their premises. HotSpots work similarly to wifi enabling access when you’re in wifi range. Additional HotSpots are located throughout town and at various places on the Island which will also provide you internet when in range. HotSpot cards are available from Norfolk Island Telecom and a variety of stores when you arrive on the Island.
