  • Hamilton Botanic Gardens: explore its exquisite gardens, showcasing a wide variety of native and exotic plants in beautifully landscaped grounds.
  • Bolobek Gardens: A magnificent heritage listed rural property, the garden features mature Linden, Birch and Oaks. It truly is an oasis with a walled rose garden where mature, espaliered fruit trees augment mass climbers to clothe the walls. There are poplar and crab apple walks, lilac hedges, herbaceous borders, prize winning dahlias and a creek and fernery all tied together by sweeping lawns.
  • Hanging Rock Reserve: While known more for its iconic rock formation, Hanging Rock also features beautiful natural landscapes and gardens, perfect for exploration.
  • Alowyn Gardens: Located in the Yarra Valley, Alowyn Gardens is a unique and stunning garden with multiple themed areas, including a perennial border, parterre garden, and a forest walk.

Day 1: 02 October 2024 Melbourne & Werribee Mansion – Geelong

Your tour commences late this morning at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. Don't miss the beautiful Guilfoyle's Volcano and the Ian Potter Foundation Children's Garden. We make our way to Werribee Mansion & Gardens for a late lunch. After lunch there is time to explore the stunning gardens and the historic mansion. Enjoy the Rose Garden and the exotic plants in the Victoria State Rose Garden, before checking-in and enjoying a welcome dinner at the hotel.

Day 2: 03 October 2024 Queenscliff  

This morning explore the Geelong Botanic Gardens. Spend time admiring the diverse collection of plants, especially the stunning Palm House and the Rose Garden. This afternoon enjoy the coastal scenery and delightful views from the train on a scenic railway journey of the Bellarine Peninsula.

Day 3: 04 October 2024 Lorne - Great Ocean Road - Warrnambool

Today drive along the Great Ocean Road and make a stop at Lorne Botanic Garden. Enjoy a peaceful walk amidst the coastal beauty. Visit Apollo Bay, Great Otway National Park, The Twelve Apostles, and Port Campbell. Later visit Warrnambool Botanic Gardens, these gardens boast a vast collection of plants, including rare and exotic species. The highlights include the impressive floral clock, a fernery, and a Japanese garden.

Day 4: 05 October 2024 Hamilton – Grampians  

Drive to Hamilton enjoying picturesque countryside views on the way. Explore Hamilton Botanic Gardens with its exquisite gardens, showcasing a wide variety of native and exotic plants in beautifully landscaped grounds. Later travel to Grampians National Park, though not strictly gardens, the natural landscapes here are awe-inspiring. Halls Gap Botanic Gardens (Optional Stop). If time permits, make a brief stop at Halls Gap to explore the charming small garden.

Day 5: 06 October 2024 Macedon - Yarra Valley

Visit Bolobek Gardens & the Garden Lovers Fair. Bolobek is a magnificent heritage listed rural property situated in the foothills of the Macedon Ranges. The Garden Lovers Fair happens once a year and boasts some 50 specialist and unique stallholders. The garden features mature Linden, Birch and Oaks. It truly is an oasis with a walled rose garden where mature, espaliered fruit trees augment mass climbers to clothe the walls. There are poplar and crab apple walks, lilac hedges, herbaceous borders, prize winning dahlias and a creek and fernery all tied together by sweeping lawns.

Late this afternoon visit Hanging Rock Reserve, known for its rock formation and natural beauty and then onto Yarra Valley to check into your accommodation for the night.

Day 6: 07 October 2024 Mt Dandenong - Melbourne

Visit Alowyn Gardens in the Yarra Valley. Explore the various themed gardens and enjoy a leisurely stroll through the perennial borders and forested areas. Drive onto the Dandenong Botanic Garden. Enjoy the extensive collection of rhododendrons and azaleas amidst breathtaking landscapes. Visit William Ricketts Sanctuary nearby for a unique experience of sculptures integrated into the natural surroundings before returning to Melbourne. The tour ends in Melbourne at approximately 4pm (depending on traffic conditions).
