Day 1 - Depart Sydney on the Indian Pacific
Departing Sydney's Central Station the anticipation builds for the trip ahead as you settle in to your first evening on the Indian Pacific enjoying the fabulous food, wine, service and social atmosphere of this much-loved rail journey.
Day 2 - Indian Pacific - Broken Hill & Adelaide
After breakfast prepare for your Off-Train Excursion in Broken Hill, followed by a day enjoying the outback scenery. In the afternoon, arrive in Adelaide where you'll have the afternoon free to explore the city ahead of your forgettable outback adventure.
Day 3 - Adelaide to Wilpena Pound
You are about to be immersed in a pocket of Australia where legends were born. your expertly guided outback Eco Safari begins by heading north along the coast through Port Wakefield and Port Germain, and onward to the Southern Flinders Ranges to Mount Remarkable National Park.
It's here you'll explore 600 million year old mountain peaks and enjoy gorgeous views over Spencer Gulf, before venturing further through picturesque Pichi Richi Pass and Quorn - once the starting point of the original Ghan Railway.
For the remainder of the day, expect to see an abundance of native wildlife as you pass through ghost towns heading for y our accommodation at Wilpena Pound Resort.
Day 4 - Wilpena Pound
Today is all about exploring an icon of the outback. Enjoy a self-guided walk along dry creek beds to Wangara Lookout to view spectacular Wilpena Pound.
After taking in the stunning beauty of this amazing natural amphitheatre, your exploration and geological understanding of the outback continues at Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges - home to some of the oldest rock formations and fossils on earth.
Day 5 - Wilpena Pound to Adelaide
The journey back to Adelaide descends through the magnificent Southern Flinders Ranges toward the acclaimed wine country of the Clare Valley.
Day 6 - Adelaide - Leisure Day
Today is yours to enjoy a stroll around Adelaide's shopping district or take a tram to beautiful beachside Glenelg.
Day 7 - Farewell from
It's time to check out of your accommodation after a rich and rewarding discovery of outback Australia.
