Day 1 –  Wednesday 24 August 2022

Leave Sydney in the mid-afternoon (3pm) on the Indian Pacific and enjoy dinner as you make your way through the magnificent Blue Mountains. After a regionally inspired dinner and all-inclusive fine wines, there is plenty of time for socialising with fellow guests in the lounge. Retire to the comfort of your cabin for a restful night’s sleep as the train rolls onward.

Day 2 – Thursday 25 August 2022

Arrive in Broken Hill in the early hours of the morning and enjoy a choice of off train experiences exploring the historic mining town’s unique cultural and artistic attractions. Head back to the train for breakfast while you journey west and watch the scenery change from semi-arid scrub to the russet and ochre hues of the ancient rock formations of the Southern Flinders Ranges. Arrive in Adelaide by mid-afternoon. You will be transferred from Adelaide Parklands Terminal to your accommodation for the next 4 nights at the Majestic Roof Garden Hotel. This evening is at leisure.

Day 3 – Friday 26 August 2022

Enjoy Breakfast at your hotel. Depart Adelaide approximately 9am and travel to the mighty Murray. On your arrival at the river your will board the Proud Mary and relax as you cruise the historic river enjoying the wildlife and surrounding scenery. Enjoy lunch on board the Proud Mary as you continue your journey along the river and gain insight into the river system and unique landscapes of the region. Upon disembarking you will journey on an incredible coach tour along the riverbank of the Murray River taking in spectacular views, travelling over the river on punts and stopping regularly for great photo opportunities, including the Mannum Lookout. Travel back to Adelaide via the delightful Adelaide Hills, stopping at Melba’s Chocolate Factory where you can purchase afternoon tea and delight in cheese tastings at Woodside Cheese Wrights in Woodside (both at own expense). Return to your accommodation at approximately 5.15pm. This evening is at leisure.

Day 4 – Saturday 27 August 2022

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel. The day is yours to explore at leisure. Within an easy 10 min walk from the hotel you have the Adelaide Art Gallery, Museum, Botanic Gardens, State Library, Adelaide Central Markets and Rundle Mall. If you are feeling more adventurous it's only 20 mins to the Adelaide Oval via the River Torrens Footbridge. Or why not jump on the tram to Glenelg and walk along the foreshore, grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants dotting Jetty Road and check out the boutique shops.

Day 5 – Sunday 28 August 2022

It’s an early start today with a morning pick up at 645am. Discover Kangaroo Island's nature, wildlife and local wine & cider. Aside from the amazing wildlife, Kangaroo Island is also well known for its thriving food and wine industry. Your local guide will introduce you to some of the island’s leading producers, where you'll have the chance to find out about their products, history and sample their range.

On this tour you'll visit the incredible Raptor Domain for the exciting and educational “In-Flight” Birds of Prey display. The only “In-Flight” Birds of Prey display in South Australia, it is thought by many to be the most interactive Birds of Prey display in Australia.

Next, travel to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery (South Australia’s only commercial Eucalyptus Oil Distillery) for a delicious 2-course lunch followed by an introductory talk about the history of the oil distillery and take a guided tour. Kangaroo Island Ciders’ range of Colony Cove products including Apple Sparkler, Draught Cider and Original Cider are available for tasting (additional cost). Finish off with some free time in their souvenir shop where you will find an assortment of Eucalyptus, Tea Tree and Emu Oil products.

Your next stop is Clifford’s Honey Farm, where you’ll enjoy an informative guided tour of the honey room where you will learn about the extraction process, taste a honey soft drink and have the option to sample the Drunken Drone Brewery’s Honey Wheat Ale. In the farm gate shop, you can see a working beehive where you can try to spot the Queen bee. There are different varieties of pure Kangaroo Island Ligurian honey and beauty products to purchase as well as their famous honey ice-cream.

Continue to Pennington Bay, a spectacular beach on the south coast of Kangaroo Island for a photo opportunity. This delightful tour ends with a visit to the new False Cape Wines Cellar Door on the beautiful Dudley Peninsula, where you can soak up the views and enjoy a structured tasting of their premium wines. Your tour ends at the Penneshaw Hotel where you have ample time for dinner (own expense) before returning to the Penneshaw Ferry Terminal for your return ferry and coach transfer back to Adelaide. Arrive back in Adelaide at approximately 10.40pm.

Day 6 – Monday 29 August 2022

Standard of dress onboard the train:
It is your holiday and we want you to be comfortable, so smart casual attire is recommended. Warm clothes are recommended for evenings onboard the train, as the air-conditioning can be cool. It is recommended that guests pack a hat, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes for off-train touring. Sensible shoes are advisable for walking between carriages. 

Cabins onboard the train:
Single Gold Cabins - compact sleeper cabin featuring a bed that converts to a seat by day, private vanity, with shared shower/toilet facilities located at the end of the carriage.

Twin Gold Cabins - comfortable sleeper cabin featuring upper and lower sleeping berths that convert to a three-seater lounge by day. Private compact en suite featuring a shower and toilet.

Luggage Allowance:
Guests should bring an overnight bag to their cabin containing everything needed for the journey
. Each guest travelling is entitled to checked in luggage, however checked in luggage cannot be accessed during the journey. In Gold Service, guests are allowed 2 bags x 30kg and guests travelling in Platinum Service are allowed 3 bags x 30kg.
