Set off to explore the dramatic landscapes of the West MacDonnell Ranges. Discover Simpsons Gap, known as ‘Rungutjirpa’ by the Arrernte people, and visit the cultural icon of Standley Chasm (Angkerle Atwatye) which is 100% owned and operated by the local Arrernte community. Later, enjoy a guided tour of the Alice Springs Desert Park. Tonight, delight in a Bush BBQ dinner and a live outback show under the stars. Included Meals: B.L.D.
Farewell Alice Springs as you begin your journey deeper into the heart the outback. A short walk at Ellery Creek warms us up for the towering walls of Ormiston Gorge before we continue along the scenic Mereenie Loop 4WD track to Kings Canyon and Watarrka National Park, our home for the next two nights. Tonight, dinner is at Carmichael’s at Kings Canyon Resort. Included Meals: B.L.D.
This morning, take the opportunity to explore Kings Canyon on a guided walk. Choose between the spectacular 6 km rim walk (good fitness required) or the more relaxed 2.6 km creek bed walk. In the afternoon, guests can opt for an upgrade with a 15-minute helicopter flight over Kings Canyon and Watarrka National Park with a local operator. Later, enjoy drinks and canapés as the sun sets at the immersive Light Towers installation by acclaimed artist Bruce Munro. Dinner tonight is at the Kings Canyon Bar & Grill. Included Meals: B.L.D.
Today’s activities begin with a visit to Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Experience and Tours, an Indigenous-owned and operated cultural tour. Bound for Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, we lunch along the way at Curtin Springs, a millionacre cattle station. We then arrive at Uluru, one of most Australia’s most iconic landmarks. This evening, attend the Wintjiri Wiru Sunset Dinner, a powerful cultural storytelling experience featuring choreographed drones, lasers and projections lighting up the desert sky. Enjoy cocktails infused with native ingredients and dine on a gourmet dinner hamper as the night sky lights up. Witness the ancient Mala story retold, listening to a traditional Inma soundtrack and narration in the local Pitjantjatjara language. Included Meals: B.L.D.
Venture to the majestic Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) with a guided walk through Walpa Gorge to admire the incredible rock formations. You’ll then take a guided tour around the base of Uluru and learn about traditional Anangu culture and stories connected to this sacred site. This afternoon, tour the Gallery of Central Australia followed by free time to relax or explore the Resort and activities on offer. As the sun sets, head to an amazing dune-top location, with views of Uluru. Enjoy drinks and canapes as artist Bruce Munro’s global phenomenon Field of Light gently illuminates across an area the size of seven football fields, before returning to the hotel for dinner. Early risers will experience the sun rising over Uluru this morning and the colours of dawn spreading across the landscape. Breakfast is at the hotel before we depart for the Mala Walk. Admire the fine examples of rock art along this walk before arriving at Kantju Gorge, a place of profound peacefulness surrounded by sheer vertical walls.
With a free afternoon ahead of us, you can either spend at your leisure, or participate in additional touring of the area, including a Bush Tucker Experience.
This evening, we'll enjoy the unique 'Sounds of Silence' dining experience under the stars. Offering the best of the Red Centre distilled into four magical hours, the evening begins with canapes and chilled sparkling wine served on a viewing platform overlooking the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. As the sun sets and darkness falls, listen to the sound of the didgeridoo and enjoy a premium bush tucker-inspired buffet incorporating native bush ingredients.
Afterwards, settle back and listen to the resident star talker decode the southern night sky. After this incredible experience, we return to Sails in the Desert for our final night. Stay: Sails in the Desert. Included Meals: B.L.D.
Following breakfast, guests have the choice to depart from Ayers Rock Airport or return to Alice Springs aboard the Outback Spirit coach which will transfer you to your chosen accommodation. Included Meals: B.

Can I travel if I require special assistance or mobility aids? Passengers are required to have a reasonable level of mobility to be able to board and alight the coach unaided. Due to space restrictions aboard our coaches, we are unable to accommodate passengers who require the use of wheelchairs or walkers. Vehicles are not equipped with wheelchair ramps or lifters. Passengers requiring physical or mental assistance must be accompanied by a companion who is willing and capable of providing such assistance. Passengers can bring a walking stick, however, we recommend that it be telescopic/collapsible for ease of storage.
What walking / fitness level is required on tour? Most itineraries contain guided sightseeing walks to natural attractions. As such, passengers are required to have a reasonable level of fitness in order to participate. Walks vary in length, are undertaken during the day, can be exposed to full sun, can be over uneven, natural terrain, steps up to a lookout or vantage point and some may be over slippery rocks. If passengers feel they are unable to participate on the day, alternative arrangements will be made with adequate provision for passenger comfort and safety. Shorter walks range from 100m – 400m, longer walks and hikes range from 2 - 5km.
