Day 1: Brisbane to Stanthorpe
Drive Distance: approx. 246km
Travel south via the Ipswich Boonah Road to Boonah, heart of the Scenic Rim with its stunning mountain and country scenery. Follow the Falls Scenic Drive via Lake Moogerah, Carr’s Lookout and the spectacular Queens Mary Falls to Killarney. Enjoy lunch at Spring Creek Mountain Cafe with spectacular views over Condamine Gorge, Wilson’s Peak, The Border Ranges and World Heritage listed rainforest. Explore the region today on your included food & wine tour today! Join aguided tour of the local wineries, fresh produce outlets and attractions. Sample all the goods without having to drive, meet new friends and enjoy the local guide commentary.
Day 3: Stanthorpe to Brisbane
Today before you head home be sure to stock up on some amazing treats to take home with you!
We recommend picking up your fruit and veggies from Sam's Farm Fresh Fruit and Veg, located on Middleton Rd, Cottonval. Owner Sam Giacca is a local legend and is loved by all. His ramshackle greengrocer is a throw back to yesteryear with it wooden crates, hessian bags and is piled high with local produce grown by local farmers.
Pick up fresh apple juice and the best slice of apple pie you will have ever tasted from Sutton's Juice Factory Cidery & Cafe. Just beside the New England highway and diagonally opposite The Big Apple is a bright pink sign saying Sutton’s Juice Factory & Cidery & Café, open seven days. Drive in to the old packing shed which, from the outside, gives no clue as to what may be found on the other side of the door.
