Brisbane to Norfolk Island
Check in at Brisbane International Airport for your short flight to Norfolk Island. Watawieh! Welcome to Norfolk Island. On arrival, you’ll be transferred to Governor’s Lodge Resort Hotel, your home for the next seven nights. Located on Queen Elizabeth Ave, the resort is just a short drive or walk from the main township of Burnt Pine and features 55 individual one-bedroom cabins set amongst 12 acres of subtropical gardens, offering peace, privacy and tranquillity. All cabins are well appointed and include a separate lounge and bedroom, kitchenette with bar fridge and microwave, tea and coffee making facilities, private bathroom, and furnished balcony. The resort also features a swimming pool and heated spa — perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. This evening enjoy a 2-course dinner at the Boatshed, located onsite. Included Meals: D.

Island Life Tour & Kapyong Day Service
Enjoy breakfast at the resort before joining the Island Life Tour, a fascinating introduction to modern life on Norfolk Island. Spend a delightful time touring Norfolk Island, gaining a true insight into the intricate nature of modern island life. Your guide will share the latest information on the island's ethnic groups, including the Norfolk Island indigenous language, and explain the eight original family groups, how their cultural traits are fostered, valued and maintained in today's daily life. Hear how and where islanders are born, educated, find work and careers, attend their various churches, are cared for in advancing years and eventually accorded free burial in a carefully tended community graveyard. Learn about how the island generates its electricity, gains its supply of gas, ships in petroleum products, food and the material needs of life. The making of roads, the maintenance of medical, health services and environmental issues are explained. Morning tea and lunch with one standard beer, wine or soft drink is included. This afternoon, attend the Kapyong Day Service at the RSL Club with Welcome nibbles and a complimentary beer or wine (other beverages at own expense). Dinner tonight is at your own arrangements - you may wish to stay on at the RSL and and enjoy a dinner at the Bistro. Included Meals: B, L.

Naturally Norfolk Tour & Military Museum Tour
After breakfast, embark on the Naturally Norfolk tour.Explore Norfolk Island's geological marvels in all their natural beauty. These spectacular formations are a result from the island's volcanic creation, three million years ago. Sheer rugged cliffs, outcrops of basalt and volcanic residue are examined. Be expertly guided through the beauty and characteristics of the island's delightful native, endemic and introduced species of trees and shrubs, plants and palms, ferns, flowers and fruits. These include the iconic Norfolk Island Pine. See examples of Norfolk's resident and migratory bird life. Possibly see or hear the call of the endangered Norfolk Island Green Parrot. Tour includes morning tea. In the afternoon, meet at the Norfolk Island Military Museum. The museum proudly displays memorabilia and artifacts which encapsulate the service of Norfolk Island men and women for all wars and conflicts since the Boer War. The museum also features the history of the construction of the Norfolk Island Airport during WWII, as well as an important piece of history from the Pitcairn Settlement. This will be followed by dinner at the RSL club. Included Meals: B, D.

ANZAC Day Celebrations
Its an early start this morning for the 5:00am Dawn Service conducted at Emily Bay followed by breakfast for non-veterans at Government House or a Gunfire Breakfast at Kingston Golf Club for veterans and ex-service personnel. At 10:30am veterans and family representatives assemble at the Officers' Bath at Kingston for the march to Cenotaph and Mid-Morning Service (please advise at time of booking if you are ex-service or veteran and would like to participate in the march). A traditional ANZAC Day lunch followed by games of two-up will be held at the RSL Club. Dinner tonight is at your own arrangements. Included Meals: B, L.

Picnic Lunch at Emily Bay & Island Fish Fry
There is time for a leisurely breakfast and relax this morning before your coach transfer to beautiful Emily Bay for a Picnic Lunch of assorted pinwheels, sandwiches, mini quiches, cakes, slices, scones or biscuits with tea and coffee. This evening, is one of Norfolk Island's signature attractions - the traditional Island Fish Fry feast featuring a buffet of local dishes, salads, homemade bread and freshly fried fish, followed by island desserts and tea or coffee. Watch the sunset from Pinetree Tours’ exclusive property, Orn Daa Cliff, on Norfolk’s beautiful western coastline, before enjoying lively local entertainment by the Baunti Byuutis dancing group. Wars of Change Tour
Enjoy breakfast at the resort. Today you will embark on the Wars of Change Coach Tour and learn how the idyllic characteristics of Norfolk Island have been challenged and changed by the events of World War II. Your guide will explain the social impact when the major male component of the community joined the fighting forces and departed the island's shores for the duration of the war years. Have explained the equal impact of defence troops being posted to the island. Hear about the wartime construction of the Norfolk Island airport, the destruction of a mile long avenue of mature island pines and the loss of island homes, all to make way for the airport project. Tour some sites of the war machinery. Hear about equipment emplacements, radar stations, tented accommodation for troops and water supply facilities. Dinner this evening will be a 2-course menu at Governor's Lodge. Included Meals: B, D.

Pitcairn Settlers Story & Farewell
Following breakfast, make your way to Pitcairn Settlers Village to experience the history of the Pitcairn Island Settlers. Your guide will take you through the gracious original Bailey homestead & gardens before a stroll through the barn, dairy and out-buildings. Wander the Museum filled with items of nostalgic and historic interest including the oldest working forge in the Pacific. After that there’s an Ex New Zealand Army hut, with war-time memorabilia. And finally, there’s an exclusive film of Norfolk Island interest and complimentary refreshments. After lunch (own expense), you will be picked up and transferred to the airport to catch your flight home. Included Meals: B.

Fitness to Travel
A reasonable level of fitness is required for some activities provided in this package, including embarking and disembarking of aircraft which may be by stairs on the tarmac. Flight Info
Flight departs from Brisbane International terminal. It is recommended to arrive at least 2 hours prior to departure. Photographic ID such as an Australian Driver Licence or Proof of Age card, is required (including for children). Passports are not required when travelling from Australia but are recommended.

Norfolk Island has 4G coverage however at times you may not be able to use the Internet. Most accommodation properties have a “HotSpot” on their premises. HotSpots work similarly to wifi enabling access when you’re in wifi range. Additional HotSpots are located throughout town and at various places on the Island which will also provide you internet when in range. HotSpot cards are available from Norfolk Island Telecom and a variety of stores when you arrive on the Island.
