Your First Class Sleeper (twin share or single) is a private cabin which provides a comfortable seat during the day which converts into a bed at night. Arrive in Longreach for the start of your Easter in the Outback adventure. You will be met at Longreach Airport or Longreach Railway Station by your Savannah Guide Operator Driver and transferred to Longreach Motor Inn for check-in. Dinner tonight will be at your accommodation.
Thu 01 Apr 2021 - Longreach
Join our Strathmore Station Tour for an insider’s view into life on the land followed by a delicious home-baked morning tea. Witness a totally different way of schooling at Longreach School of Distance Education. Tour one of the largest classrooms in the world!
Enjoy some free time in downtown Longreach for a bit of Outback retail therapy. Late afternoon, you'll unwind on the Drover’s Sunset Cruise with tasty nibbles on-board followed by a two-course table service dinner under the stars at Smithy’s Outback Dinner & Show.
Friday 02 April 2021 – Winton - GOOD FRIDAY!
Travel from the Mitchell Grass plains of Longreach towards the dramatic mesa country of Winton on our full day tour. You'll visit the Australian Age of Dinosaurs perched high on a magnificent mesa overlooking the plains where dinosaurs once roamed!
Onsite dinosaur enthusiasts will treat you to a top-class interpretive tour of the laboratory, collection room and Dinosaur Canyon. In Winton, see the quirky Arno’s Wall, the Musical Fence and learn the story behind Australia’s unofficial national anthem at the Waltzing Matilda Centre. Return to Longreach late afternoon. Dine tonight in the award-winning Harry’s Restaurant at Longreach Motor Inn.
Sat 03 April 2021 – Longreach
After a relaxed breakfast, join your guide for a short drive west from town to Lily Lagoon – a local favourite. Part of the Thomson River system, the lagoon emerges temporarily after rain. The lily-filled waterhole is perfect for bird-watching or a relaxing walk. Enjoy a traditional billy-tea then tour the nearby cattle sale yards. Visit the world-class QANTAS Founders Museum, eloquently telling the story of the founding of Qantas. View marvellous interpretive and interactive exhibits then join a guided Airpark Tour. Tonight, enjoy a meal at a favourite local watering hole – The Birdcage Hotel.
Sun 04 April 2021 – Longreach - HAPPY EASTER!
Visit the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame to explore the five themed galleries and to view their brand new Cinematic Experience. This afternoon we’ll take a short drive to Ilfracombe. Founded in 1891, it was a transport hub for Wellshot Station, which at the time held the largest number of sheep on any station in the world. You’ll cap off the tour with an authentic pub dinner at the historic Wellshot Hotel.
Mon 05 April 2021 – Depart Longreach
Following a relaxed breakfast, you'll be transferred to Longreach Railway Station for your journey on the iconic Spirit of the Outback.
Tue 06 April 2021 - Arrive Brisbane (Roma Street Station)
Say farewell to your fellow travellers during the morning as your amazing Outback Adventure ends on arrival in Brisbane's Roma Street Station around midday.

When booking, you will need to provide us with your concession card details. Any clients who are unable to provide concession card details will be charged the adult fare.
Willing to share?:
One of the advantages of travelling on a Travel at 60 dedicated group departure is that we have the ability to match solo travellers, so that you they can avoid paying the single supplement. Subject to availability of another traveller of the same gender willing to share. If we are unable to match you with another traveller the sole use price will be charged.
Please note that due to limited availability on the Spirit of the Outback, solo travellers will share a twin cabin on the overnight Spirit of the Outback journey and enjoy a single room whilst on tour
One small to medium sized suitcase per person (approx. height 60cm - width 40cm - depth 30cm) maximum weight 20kg. One piece of hand luggage/day pack may be carried onboard the coach. Due to limited space, the carriage of wheelie-walkers must be requested prior to travel.
Travel at 60 and supplier booking conditions apply. Minimum numbers are required for the group to operate. Same gender solo pair up is subject to availability. If we are unable to match you with another traveller the sole use price will be charged.
Concession Cards: All concession card numbers must be advised at the time of booking and a copy of both sides of your card emailed to Travel at 60. Any customers who do not provide a concession number will be charged the adult fare.
QLD Pension Entitlements: Queensland resident pension card holders are entitled to four (4) rail travel entitlements each calendar year. Additional fare applies for any Queensland Pensioners who have used their rail travel entitlements. All pension card numbers must be advised at the time of booking and a copy of both sides of your pension card emailed to Travel at 60.
Deposit / Final Payment:
A non-refundable deposit of $250 per person is required within 7 days of booking. The balance is due no later than Wednesday 20 January 2021.
