Fitzroy Island is a tropical paradise of rainforest and beaches within the calm sheltered waters of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Just 45 minutes by boat from Cairns, Fitzroy Island offers guests the opportunity to discover the magic of the Great Barrier Reef. The turquoise ocean waters are alive with vibrant corals and marine life and can be explored directly from the island.

Explore the bush walking tracks throughout the island, like the Lighthouse and Summit walks, with views all the way to the Great Barrier Reef. Trek to magic spots like Secret Garden and Nudey Beach, one of Far North Queensland’s most iconic beaches.

The Resort facilities include a contemporary restaurant, large pool with swim up bar, games room, indoor movie theatre, resort general store, Foxy’s Bar, Dive & Adventure Centre and Turtle rehabilitation hospital.

Activities include a water trampoline, kayaking, snorkelling, paddle boarding and exploring the walking trails - ranging from an easy walk through the secret garden rainforest or a challenging hike up to the summit, which is great for taking photos of the magnificent view!

Accommodation

Resort Studio: Private air-conditioned rooms 32sqm in size. Room features plasma TV, black marble ensuite bathroom (shower), tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge. Choice of a Queen Bed or 2 King Single Beds (26 rooms offer twin bedding). Sleeps two guests. Not appropriate for Honeymoon guests.

Island Suite: Located on the ground floor and level 2, Island Suites are a spacious one bedroom suite (71 sqm in size). Each Island Suite includes a generous balcony, kitchenette with microwave, toaster and full size fridge as well as tea and coffee facilities. Each suite is air-conditioned with ceiling fans in rooms, Queen bed, plasma TV, lounge and dining area and en-suite black marble tiled bathroom.

Transfers to/from Fitzroy Island:

  • Departure Times from Cairns: 8:00am; 11:00am* and 1.30pm
  • Departure Times from Fitzroy: 9.30am; 12.15pm* and 5:00pm*

Please note - 11:00am and 12.15pm services do not run Monday to Friday during the months of February and March.

  • Please note check-In time at the resort is 2:00pm. If you arrive on the island before this time, the resort is able to store your bags until your room becomes available.
  • Please note check-out time is 10:00am. If you depart the island later in the afternoon, the resort is able to store your bags for you until you check-in for your transfer back to Cairns.
