Arrive in Perth and make your own way to your centrally located hotel in West Perth, just minutes from Kings Park and the Swan River. Perth is Australia’s sunniest capital city, known for its relaxed lifestyle and beautiful riverfront setting. Check-in is from 3.00pm. If you arrive early, luggage can be stored while you unwind or explore nearby cafés and boutiques.This evening, gather with your Host and fellow travellers for a delightful two-course Welcome Dinner with a drink — the perfect opportunity to get to know one another and begin your holiday in style. After breakfast at the hotel, travel by coach through the scenic Avon Valley and into Western Australia’s vast wheatbelt region — a landscape of golden farmland and wide open skies. If conditions are favourable you may spot some late-blooming wildflowers adding colour to the surrounding landscape. Our first stop is York, Western Australia’s oldest inland town, known for its beautifully preserved heritage buildings. We then continue to Corrigin, where we pause for a photo with the famous Corrigin Dog statue, a much-loved local landmark. From here we travel on to Hyden to visit the remarkable Wave Rock. Believed to be more than 2.7 billion years old, this extraordinary granite formation rises 15 metres high and stretches over 100 metres long, resembling a giant ocean wave frozen in time. Enjoy a gentle walk around the rock and the nearby Hippo's Yawn, another fascinating natural rock formation. Later, gain insight into rural Australian life with a visit to a local Outback Farm. After breakfast, we journey south through ever-changing landscapes toward the dramatic southern coastline. First stop is Stirling Range National Park, home to Bluff Knoll, the highest peak in southern WA. In spring, this region is renowned for its colourful wildflowers. Arriving in Albany, Western Australia’s first European settlement, we visit the moving National Anzac Centre, overlooking King George Sound. This award-winning centre shares powerful stories of the ANZAC troops who departed from these shores during World War I. We also explore Albany’s Historic Whaling Station and admire the rugged coastal scenery at The Gap and Natural Bridge, where waves crash dramatically against ancient granite cliffs. On arrival at our hotel for the evening, check in and enjoy a relaxed afternoon at leisure. Dinner tonight is at your own arrangements. Hotel: Hilton Garden Inn Albany. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before boarding the coach for one of Australia’s most scenic coastal drives. In Walpole, take a walk among the towering karri trees at the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk. Suspended 40 metres above the forest floor, the gentle elevated walkway offers breathtaking views through the canopy of these ancient giants. Continuing west, we reach Augusta, a peaceful seaside town where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet. Visit Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, located at mainland Australia’s most south-westerly point. Check in to your hotel and enjoy a free afternoon. Alternatively, you may wish to continue with your driver to Hamelin Bay beach to see the famous Hamelin Bay stingrays. Take a short walk down to the boat ramp where these large black stingrays are often seen gliding gracefully through the shallow water close to shore - a unique and memorable sight. This evening is free for you to explore at your leisure. You might like to enjoy a casual meal (at own expense) at a local fish and chip shop, a nearby Chinese restaurant, or dine at the hotel’s onsite bistro, which serves dinner from 5.00pm to 8.00pm. After breakfast we make our way towards Margaret River, travelling through the picturesque Boranup Forest, known for its towering karri trees. Next, we take a guided tour of Mammoth Cave. This remarkable limestone cave is home to ancient fossils of Australia’s extinct megafauna, providing a captivating glimpse into prehistoric times. Look out for the 50,000-year-old zygomaturus jawbone, a relic of a large wombat-like herbivore, still embedded in the cave wall. Arrive in the Margaret River region, internationally celebrated for its premium wines, gourmet produce and stunning coastline. We visit Redgate Estate for a wine tasting experience. This charming boutique winery is known for its handcrafted wines and tranquil setting. Enjoy a tasting of their signature reds and whites, and perhaps find a new favourite to take home. We then head to the main street of Margaret River, where you can browse for souvenirs and enjoy lunch at one of the local cafés (own expense). Afterwards, check in to your hotel and unwind during a leisurely free afternoon. This evening, enjoy dinner at the much-loved Settlers Tavern, known for its welcoming atmosphere and quality local produce. Hotel: Margarets in Town Apartments. Included meals: breakfast & dinner.
After a leisurely breakfast, we visit a local Olive Estate to learn about premium olive oil production followed by a visit to the popular Margaret River Chocolate Company. Sample a delightful range of handmade chocolates, watch the chocolatiers at work and treat yourself to some sweet souvenirs to take home. Today’s highlight is a seasonal lunch with matched wines at the iconic family-owned Leeuwin Estate, one of the founding wineries of the region and renowned for both its fine wines and impressive art collection. Today we begin with an early breakfast before checking out and boarding the coach. First stop is the heritage-listed Busselton Jetty, stretching almost two kilometres into Geographe Bay, the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Travelling north along the coast, we’ll stop at Pengo's Café to pick up a takeaway lunch pack. Afterwards, join a one-hour wildlife cruise through the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, home to playful dolphins, curious sea lions, and a variety of seabirds. Arriving in the historic port city of Fremantle, we’ll first stop at our hotel to drop off bags and check in if rooms are available. We then visit the distinctive Round House, Fremantle’s oldest public building, which served as a prison from 1830 to 1886. Next, explore the Western Australian Maritime Museum, where you can discover the rich maritime history of the region. After the museum, head downstairs to Gage Roads Freo Brewery to enjoy a refreshing schooner of beer or a glass of wine, accompanied by a classic meal of fish and chips. At 7.00 pm, return to the hotel by coach, or stay on to enjoy a few extra drinks and unwind with your new friends. Hotel: Esplanade Hotel Fremantle by Rydges. After breakfast, the day is yours to explore this vibrant and historic seaside city at your own pace. Browse the famous Fremantle Markets, visit the WA Shipwrecks Museum, enjoy waterfront cafés, take a ride on the Ferris Wheel or if you are travelling home tomorrow, consider a day trip to Rottnest Island, known for its turquoise bays and adorable quokkas. With its beautifully preserved 19th-century architecture and relaxed coastal atmosphere, Fremantle is a wonderful place to unwind at the end of our journey. After breakfast, check out of the hotel and make your own way to Perth Airport according to your flight schedule. We farewell new friends and wonderful memories of Western Australia’s beautiful south-west. Included meals: breakfast.
Transfer from your hotel to the SeaLink Terminal in Fremantle and board the morning ferry to Rottnest Island. Luggage can be checked in with the ferry provider for a small fee and will be delivered to the resort (allow up to 4 hours). We recommend packing a day bag with bathers and essentials for immediate use.On arrival, make your own way to Discovery Resort. As the island is mostly vehicle-free, most guests enjoy a scenic 10-minute walk from the ferry pier through the main township to the resort however there is also a private vehicle transfer if required (addditional charge). If you bring your luggage, it can be left at reception (check-in from 2.00pm) while you head to Pinky’s for lunch (own expense). Take time to explore Pinky’s Beach and perhaps enjoy a swim. Dinner is at leisure this evening. Hotel: Discovery Resort – Rottnest Island. Included meals: breakfast.
Enjoy breakfast at the resort before joining a 3.5 hour Island Tour. Discover Rottnest’s must-see locations, including Wadjemup Lighthouse, Henrietta Rocks, Oliver Hill Gun Fortification and tunnels, panoramic Cape Vlamingh, and the seal colony at Cathedral Rocks. Learn about the island’s wildlife, indigenous history, and maritime, colonial, and military heritage. A light lunch is included. Return to the resort for free time to relax. Dinner is at your own expense this evening. Hotel: Discovery Resort – Rottnest Island. Included meals: breakfast & lunch.
After breakfast at the resort, check out and make your way to the jetty for the ferry back to the mainland. Catch the 10.00am ferry from Rottnest Island to Fremantle, then board your transfer to Perth Airport arriving at the airport around 11:40am – 12:00pm. Included meals: breakfast.
