Day by day

Itinerary

  1. 1

    Day 1

Land in the capital of Tahiti and Her Islands – Papeete. Meet our local Tahitian representative who will greet you with flower leis. He’ll take you to your overnight beachside resort via a coach transfer. Relax, take a stroll on the beach and wind down with an early dinner.
  2. 2

    Day 2

There will be a coach transfer to the airport to catch a 1.30pm flight from Papeete to Bora Bora where you will stay the next 5 nights.

Spend five magical nights in your lagoon overwater junior suite bungalow, creating new memories and soaking in all the beauty of French Polynesia. Start your day with a lovely American breakfast buffet to charge up, then explore the island with ideas from the tour desk. Swim, snorkel and scuba-dive in one of the prettiest lagoons in the world or relax by the pristine white sand beach with a good book under a shady palm tree – do as much or as little as you feel like.

The resort’s spa is particularly renowned for its traditional Polynesian treatments and massages and you just need a drop a word to us – we’ll book you and yours a session in advance. For fishing enthusiasts, there is world-class fishing waiting in the cool blue waters of the lagoon, while nature lovers can opt for walks and hikes around the lush green jungles surrounding the volcanic mountain.

As befits a five-star resort in Bora Bora, the wining and dining is par excellence. Sample French and local Polynesian delights along with international fusion cuisines at the resort’s many restaurants and bars every day.

  3. 7

    Day 7

Embark on a flight back to Papeete and coach transfer back to your overnight hotel.
  4. 8

    Day 8

After a filling American breakfast, leave for the airport via coach transfer from the resort. We hope you’ve had one of the best holidays ever and to visit the lovely people of French Polynesia again!

Tahiti, that far-flung archipelago in the South Pacific, is a place of unrivalled natural beauty. It’s fitting then that it produces one of the most spectacular gems in the world: Tahitian black pearls. These highly sought-after pearls are grown locally in the warm, pristine waters of French Polynesia, specifically the coral-rich islands of Tuamotu and Gambier. With first-hand expertise, local knowledge and an infinite selection of pearl retailers, Tahiti is the best place in the world to shop for black pearls. They also make the perfect souvenir. They’re both memorable and precious, epitomise Tahiti’s unparalleled natural beauty and are extremely easy to pack!

Travel at 60 Social Getaways

Travel further when you're not travelling alone

Our Social Getaways are small-group holidays designed especially for over-60s Australians who want the freedom of a great trip without the work of planning every detail. A Travel at 60 host travels with the group, the operator handles the logistics, and you get to focus on the bit that matters — the people, the places, and the stories you'll bring home.

Open to solo travellers too. Many of our travellers book on their own and find their feet quickly in a friendly group of like-minded Australians. Reduced single-supplement options are available on most departures — ask one of our consultants and we'll talk you through what's offered on this trip.

  • A friendly Travel at 60 host — an Australian face on the ground, looking out for the group from day one.
  • Curated local guides & boutique suppliers — the same operators we'd book for our own families.
  • Real itineraries, not whirlwind tours — comfortable transfers, breathing room, and the “off the beaten track” stops the big bus tours skip.

Want to talk it through? Call 1300 414 198 7 days a week, Queensland time, and one of our consultants will walk you through it.
