In the 60s we listened to Elvis, The Beatles, Johnny O’Keefe and The Seekers. We danced the Twist, the Hitchhiker, the Locomotion and the Pony. We saw the launch of the Ford Falcon, we watched Skippy, we converted to decimal currency and we walked on the moon.

We worked toward equality for women in the workplace and the beginnings of legal recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. We sent our brave to Vietnam. 

The 60s also bought us unisex clothing like denim jeans! Beads, fringes and tie-dye were all the rage and men rocked facial hair walking around barefoot or in their trendy leather sandals.

    Enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the pool or beachfront.

    Sunset Dolphin feeding - The highlight of any visit to Tangalooma is the opportunity to hand feed one of the wild Bottlenose dolphins that visit the shores each evening at sunset.

    Tonight enjoy a Buffet BBQ dinner includes one drink before testing your knowledge on all things 60s. Show how much you do (or don’t!) remember of this fabulous decade.

    Enjoy Breakfast at the hotel

    Today’s tour explores the stunning Southern end of pristine Moreton Island aboard Tangalooma's Southern Safari Tour. Experience the raw and rugged beauty of the island's coastline, including the untouched and expansive Eastern beach, then feast upon a delicious island lunch.

    Southern Moreton highlights include the dense bushland and coloured sands of Middle Road, the surf side of the island Eastern Beach, the historic WW2 Rous Battery site, the crystal clear waters of the Mirapool lagoon, Big & Little Sandhills, Kooringal Township, the Normandy and Fairlight Wrecks.

    Return to the resort and prepare for our 60s inspired dinner.

Accommodation

Tangalooma Island Resort is located on the golden shores of Moreton Island, accommodation is set amid luscious landscaped gardens and national park, most with Ocean views.

Standard Hotel Rooms, are comfortable and spacious. All hotel Standard rooms feature air-conditioning, an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, a hairdryer, a TV and DVD Player, a mini-fridge, and tea & coffee making facilities.

Located a short walk from the Resort Centre and only 50 metres from the iconic Tangalooma beach. (Please note: water views from room are not guaranteed)

Are you a solo traveller? If you're willing to share, we can pair you with another solo traveller so that you can avoid paying a single supplement. Subject to availability of another guest of the same gender willing to share.

If you're flying into Brisbane either domestically or internationally, our Holt Street Wharf is easily accessible at just 10 minutes from the Airport, and 15 minutes from the CBD. Accessible via Taxi or Ride Share
Car Parking
An open air car park is available for guests at the Holt Street Wharf and costs $20 per vehicle per day. The car park is fully fenced and locked each evening for security. Payable direct
