Day 1 - Mount Isa
On arrival in Mount Isa, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
This evening is at leisure. Take the time to explore the township for dinner or dine in at the Redearth Hotel, Cocktail Lounge (own expense)

Day 2 - Explore Underground Hospital & Uranium Mine
Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel before departing for the Underground hospital.
Following the bombing of Darwin in 1942 there was a real fear that Mount Isa with its rich mineral resources would be next. Over a period of 15 weeks, miners drilled and blasted their way through the side of hills surrounding Mount Isa to create the Underground Hospital.
The hospital is thought to be unique in Australia, as such the site possesses considerable archaeological significance and an important example of mid 20th century mining technology.
Return to town for lunch - own expense
After lunch, meet your tour host at your hotel. This afternoon we travel to the Mary Kathleen Old Uranium Mine for an interpretive tour. Discovered by Clem Walton and Norm McConachy in 1954 and officially opened by Prime Minister Menzies in 1958. The mine was exhausted by 1981 and subsequently closed.
5.00pm return to your hotel, dinner this evening is at your own expense.

Day 3 - Fossil Centre, Fish Hatchery & Hard Time Mines.
Enjoy a buffet breakfast at your hotel before departing for a Best of Mount Isa tour, arriving at the Outback Isa Park for lunch.
Lunch is included today.
Visit the Outback at Isa Park, the attractions here all self-guided, venture through the Riversleigh Fossil Centre and Fish Hatchery Project at your own pace before a guided tour of the Hard Times Underground Mine.

Following the tour, your tour host will transfer you to Lake Moondarra for sunset including ploughman’s platter, beer, wine, and soft drink.
Returning to your hotel around 7:30pm
Dinner this evening is at your own expense.
Day 4 - Farewell from Mount Isa
Enjoy a buffet breakfast at your hotel. Your tour of Mount Isa comes to an end today.
Transfers to the airport or train station.
