    Longreach

    Guests choosing to fly from Brisbane to Longreach today will arrive mid-morning. You’ll be greeted by your Savannah Guide Operator driver for an introductory town tour. Enjoy free time in downtown Longreach for some outback retail therapy or relax around the pool at your accommodation. Own arrangements for lunch. Late afternoon, board the Longreach Explorer for Smithy’s Sunset Cruise on the mighty Thomson River. Unwind watching a magnificent outback sunset (Drinks and snacks available for purchase). An included dinner will follow the cruise.

    Stay: 2 nights Saltbush Retreat -3.5 Star Outback Cabin (ask about other accommodation options)

    Longreach

    This morning, experience the warm hospitality of Outback Dan, a fifth generation farmer. We’ll visit Dan’s family property, Camden Park Station, an 18,000 acre sheep and cattle station. Following the tour, you’ll be treated to a traditional cuppa and smoko with Dan. Back in town, uncover the story of the founding of our national airline at the Qantas Founders Museum, then join a tour of the giant aircraft in the newly opened Airpark. Enjoy some free time this afternoon before returning after dark to experience Longreach’s latest attraction, Luminescent Longreach. Prepare for 20 minutes of awesomeness as you stand surrounded by historic aircraft doubling as the canvas for this amazing show. Featuring high-tech 3D animation and illustrations, you’ll be taken on a fascinating narrative of Australia’s aviation history. You’ll be returned to your accommodation after the show. Own arrangements for dinner. (Option: The Birdcage Hotel offers diners a courtesy pick up and drop off to your accommodation or Saltbush offer convenient BBQ packs).

    Longreach

    Wake up to your last outback sunrise and a tasty breakfast before checking out of your accommodation. At the Stockman’s Hall of Fame, take your seat for the new Cinematic Experience. Surrounded on three sides by a huge 16 metre screen, you are invited into the world of the Aussie Stockman. Late morning join your tour group for a short drive to Ilfracombe. Founded in 1891, it was a transport hub for Wellshot Station, which at the time held the largest number of sheep on any station in the world. Cap off the tour with an authentic pub lunch at the historic Wellshot Hotel. Your tour will conclude after lunch with a transfer to Longreach Airport.

Homestead Stables:

This luxurious room recreates the outback stable-boy’s accommodation, but with deluxe 4.5-star comfort. Inside you’ll discover some wonderful outback touches which help tell the outback story from the old gate bedhead to custom-made trough basins.

A highlight of your stay is sure to be an indulgent soak in a traditional claw-foot bath on our exclusive outdoor bath terrace shared with Homestead Stables guests.

Slab Huts:

The 4-star Slab Huts are crafted using traditional outback building techniques to recreate an early settler’s home. You’ll love the canopied bed and unique outback touches.

All rooms feature ensuite bathroom, air-conditioning, fridge, kitchenette, TV, DVD player and a private verandah. Free parking is in a separate park adjoining the Slab Hut complex. Brew some tea, pull up a chair on the rustic front verandah and enjoy this truly unique accommodation experience.

Travel at 60 and supplier booking conditions apply. Prices are correct as at 29 September 2020 & are subject to change at any time without notice. Package price is based on travel wholly within the travel dates. Valid for new bookings only. All product is subject to availability and may be withdrawn or varied without notice.

A non-refundable/non-transferrable deposit of $200 per person is required within 7 days of booking (otherwise booking will be cancelled). Payment for flights must be made at time of booking and are non-refundable/non-transferrable and non-changable - price will be advised at time of booking. Balance of payment is due no later than 60 days prior to departure. For bookings made less than 60 days prior to travel, full payment is required within 48 hours of confirmation.
