   Be met at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Munich. Later this evening you’ll have the chance to get to know your fellow travellers and Tour Director at a Welcome Reception.

   Munich

   Enjoy a guided discovery of the Bavarian capital of Munich, regarded by many as Germany’s most beautiful city. See the famous Glockenspiel on the Town Hall and explore the historic city centre, home to the iconic Frauenkirche. With the afternoon at leisure you may wish to visit Munich's Christmas market. Located at Marienplatz, the market is said date back to the 14th century. This evening, you will be treated to a special dinner.

   Enjoy a full day at leisure in Munich today. Perhaps choose to join an optional tour to Neuschwanstein Castle.

   Nestled in the Bavarian Alps and renowned for its stunning and romantic architecture, this fairy-tale like castle was the inspiration for Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle.    Munich, Nuremberg, Embark Ship

   Travel to Nuremberg and embark your ship. This evening, meet your Cruise Director and fellow passengers at a Welcome Reception.

   Nuremberg

   Explore Nuremberg, the site of Hitler’s infamous rallies. Wander the cobblestone streets, discovering hidden boutiques and artisan stores. After your city tour, visit the festive Nuremberg Christmas Market. Finish your day cruising through the Main-Danube Canal, crossing Europe’s Continental Divide thanks to the canal’s 16 stair-step locks.

   Regensburg

   Dock in Regensburg this morning and set out on a guided walking tour. Wander cobblestone lanes and step back in time as you explore historic streets, medieval buildings and cultural landmarks.

   Passau, Linz

   Today you may choose to join an optional excursion to Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic or visit Salzburg. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing day sailing to Linz.

   Melk, Dürnstein

   Dock in Melk and join a local guide for a tour of Melk Abbey, an active Benedictine monastery since 1089 and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This magnificent abbey is home to around two dozen practising monks. Later, cruise through the Wachau Valley to Dürnstein, where the hilltop ruins of the castle once held King Richard the Lionheart captive in 1192.

   Embrace the splendour and elegance of Vienna today on a walking tour that takes you past St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Graben, Hofburg Palace and the Albertina, then visit one of the many Christmas Markets on offer in Vienna. This evening, celebrate your river cruise with a Captain’s Farewell Dinner.

    Awake to views of one of the Danube’s most enchanting cities this morning. Disembark and discover Budapest on a guided tour with a local expert, visiting a range of the city’s most impressive sights.

Alternatively, you may wish to join an optional tour to Prague Castle.

    Travel across the Vltava River to Prague Castle, which dominates the city skyline. Believed to date back to the 9th century, this castle complex – with its network of palaces and churches – is considered the largest in the world.
