Day 1 - Board the Indian Pacific in Perth

Your journey from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean begins as you pull away from the platform in Perth at 9am. Settle into your comfortable cabin and get to know the creature comforts of life onboard. Enjoy a modern Australian lunch as you glide through the picturesque rolling hills of the Avon Valley. After a relaxing afternoon onboard, enjoy a three-course dinner prior to your late evening arrival in the wild west township of Kalgoorlie.

Day 2 - Indian Pacific, Nullarbor Plain

Awake to the spectacular expanse of the Nullarbor Plain to watch the sunrise. Be captivated by the big blue skies and ancient stillness of the desert landscape, broken only by a mob of friendly kangaroos. Waiting ahead is the charm of the once-thriving Nullarbor railway community – now ghost town – of Cook. Sit back and relax as the train continues its trek across the longest single stretch of railway in the world. Another mouth-watering dinner is followed by relaxed conversation in the lounge before a restful night’s sleep.

Day 3 - Indian Pacific, Adelaide

Get to know Adelaide, a true foodie city and the hub of the world-beating South Australian wine industry. On arrival in elegant Adelaide, you have the choice of a walking tour (seasonal), a behind-the-scenes tour of the world famous Adelaide Oval, or a coach tour of the city sights.

Day 4 - Indian Pacific, Blue Mountains & Sydney

Wake in the picturesque Blue Mountains. See the majestic Three Sisters at Echo Point and the views at Jamison Valley before completing your journey on our chartered NSW rail service (fully hosted by our staff) into Sydney Central Station. Alternatively, stay on board the Indian Pacific to travel directly to Sydney arriving at approx. 1130am. Make your way to the Rydges Sydney Harbour, The Rocks for check in, the rest of the day is yours to explore at leisure.

Day 5 - Sydney

Today enjoy a relaxing breakfast and free time to explore the harbour city. Today, you'll enjoy a cruise on Sydney Harbour. Experience the vastness of Sydney Harbour with its many secluded beaches and spectacular sandstone cliffs. Visit one of Sydney Harbour National Park's protected Islands; a hidden gem right in the middle of the harbour and discover natural bush land, once common around Sydney. Listen to commentary on the history of Sydney Harbour as well as details of the marine life that inhabits its sandy beaches, grassy sea beds and rocky shores. Opportunity to swim at one of Sydney's hidden beaches…

Day 6 - Sydney

Today is yours to explore Sydney at leisure. Why not check out the Museum of Contemporary Art or the Sydney Opera House, head to Circular Quay and hop on a ferry to Manly Beach or Taronga Zoo or visit the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Domain, the choices are endless.

Rydges Sydney Harbour, The Rocks

Located just one street back from the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay, a heritage site dating back to 1926, Rydges Sydney Harbour sits amongst the undisturbed cobblestone laneways of the city’s oldest neighbourhood. You’ll find an array of boutique shops and galleries and plenty of cafes and restaurants on your doorstep. Within a few minutes walk you’ll be at Sydney Harbour, where you can check out the Museum of Contemporary Art or the Sydney Opera House, head to Circular Quay and hop on a ferry to Manly Beach or Taronga Zoo, or catch a train to other noted Sydney hotspots.

Standard of dress onboard the train:
It is your holiday and we want you to be comfortable, so smart casual attire is recommended. Warm clothes are recommended for evenings onboard the train, as the air-conditioning can be cool. It is recommended that guests pack a hat, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes for off-train touring. Sensible shoes are advisable for walking between carriages. 

Cabins onboard the train:
Single Gold Cabins - compact sleeper cabin featuring a bed that converts to a seat by day, private vanity, with shared shower/toilet facilities located at the end of the carriage.

Twin Gold Cabins - comfortable sleeper cabin featuring upper and lower sleeping berths that convert to a three-seater lounge by day. Private compact en suite featuring a shower and toilet.

Luggage Allowance:
Guests should bring an overnight bag to their cabin containing everything needed for the journey
. Each guest travelling is entitled to checked in luggage, however checked in luggage cannot be accessed during the journey. In Gold Service, guests are allowed 2 bags x 30kg and guests travelling in Platinum Service are allowed 3 bags x 30kg.
