Enjoy a delicious hot breakfast and a locally sourced barramundi lunch prepared by your expert hosts at the Horizontal Falls houseboat.

The adventures continue with an exciting cruise through the Horizontal Falls, followed by a refreshing swim in the marine viewing enclosure, where you can get up close to the local marine life. You’ll also visit the renowned, third-generation Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, learning about the rich history and culture of this family-owned business, and explore the Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community, home to the iconic Mother of Pearl Church.

After a day full of adventure and discovery, make way back to Broome, where the Horizontal Falls team will transfer you back to our accommodation. Later today, join for dinner at the Sunset Bar & Grill. Meals: B.L.D

Note: Today’s tour may be done as drive first/fly second or fly first/drive second depending on the itinerary offered on that day. The same inclusions and activities are provided in both directions. As with all scenic seaplane adventures, safe aircraft loading is paramount. Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures seaplanes are governed by individual guests’ weight and therefore all guests must declare their accurate weights (with clothes on) at the time of booking. All guests are weighed upon boarding for weight verification and safe loading of the aircraft. In addition to the individual weights, they also have an upper weight limit of no more than 120kg.

  3. 3

Broome - Derby - Windjana Gorge - Fitzroy Crossing

Board Outback Spirits custom all-terrain coach on our journey north, stopping in Derby where we visit the culturally significant Boab Prison Tree. From here, travel along the legendary Gibb River Road, stopping at Windjana Gorge for a guided walk through towering limestone cliffs. This afternoon, venture into Tunnel Creek National Park, wading through its underground river system, before continuing to Fitzroy Crossing. Meals: B.L.D

  4. 4

Fitzroy Crossing – Halls Creek – Bungle Bungle Range

Departing Fitzroy Crossing, travel along the Great Northern Highway to Halls Creek, with a stop to explore the mystical Mimbi Caves. Led by a local Gooniyandi guide, step inside this extraordinary cave system, part of the 350-million-year-old Devonian Reef. Marvel at the vivid colours and striking limestone formations as you explore one of the most significant fossil sites of its kind in the world.

Along the way, hear rich Dreamtime stories that connect land, culture and history. Then, it’s time to journey into one of Australia’s most breathtaking landscapes, Purnululu National Park, home to the awe-inspiring Bungle Bungle Range. Meals: B.L.D

  5. 5

Exploring Purnululu, the Bungle Bungle Range

Take in the grandeur of Purnululu from above on an unforgettable 18-minute helicopter flight. Back on the ground, follow Piccaninny Creek to the stunning Cathedral Gorge, where nature has sculpted a natural amphitheatre. Continue along the Dome Trail, weaving through the park’s striking beehive-like formations, before heading north to Echidna Chasm, where sheer rock walls glow in the afternoon light. Meals: B.L.D

Note: Weight limits apply to all scenic flights.

  6. 6

    North to Wyndham & Kununurra

Leaving Purnululu behind, travel north to Kununurra, stopping at Five Rivers Lookout for a picnic with panoramic views stretching across the Cambridge Gulf. Arriving in Kununurra by afternoon, the rest of the day is yours to relax or explore at your own pace. Meals: B.L.D

  7. 7

Ord River Cruise – El Questro

Setting out for the day, arrive at the banks of Lake Kununurra to board a three-hour cruise up the Ord River. Afterwards, visit Argyle Homestead Museum before continuing to the Cockburn Range and the iconic El Questro Station. Meals: B.L.D

  8. 8

    Exploring El Questro

Delve deeper into El Questro Wilderness Park with a tranquil 90-minute cruise through Chamberlain Gorge, a striking freshwater haven framed by towering cliffs. After feeding the cheeky archerfish, return to Emma Gorge Resort via the Station township.

Choose your own adventure in the afternoon, selecting to either unwind at the resort or take on a guided hike to Emma Gorge’s breathtaking waterfall (2.5 hours return). A good level of fitness is required for this walk; however, a swim in its cool, emerald pool is just reward for effort. Meals: B.L.D

  9. 9

    Zebedee Springs – Drysdale

Spend the morning relaxing in the warm, crystal-clear waters of Zebedee Thermal Springs. After this, resume the journey west along the Gibb River Road, crossing the mighty Pentecost River. From here, follow the Kalumburu Road to Drysdale River Station, running 9,000 head of cattle across more than 1 million acres. Meals: B.L.D

  10. 10

King Edward River – Ngauwudu (Mitchell Plateau)

Heading north, continue along the Kalumburu Road and follow the remote Ngauwudu (Mitchell Plateau) track, crossing the King Edward River to reach ancient Wanjina rock art galleries - some of the most remarkable in the Kimberley. Venture deeper into the Plateau, through towering Livistona palm forests before arriving at our exclusive Ngauwudu Safari Camp by mid-afternoon. Meals: B.L.D

  11. 11

    Exploring Punamii-Uunpuu (Mitchell Falls)

A long walk today, but also a big highlight! After a short drive to the ranger station, set off on a guided 4 km walking tour to the incredible Mitchell Falls (good level of fitness and mobility required). Along the way, discover unique Gwion and Wanjina rock art galleries, with interpretation provided by a local expert guide from the Kandiwal Community. The walk also takes you past Mertens Falls before arriving at the top of the magnificent Mitchell Falls, one of the most awe-inspiring wonders of the Kimberley.

Find the perfect spot for a picnic lunch while admiring the falls before taking to the skies for a spectacular helicopter flight (included) back to where the walk began. Viewing the falls and surrounding landscape from the air is an absolute highlight and a great way to finish this unforgettable day. After today’s activities, you’ve earned a well-deserved rest and perhaps a swim in the palm-fringed creek. B.L.D

Note: For guests not wishing to do the Mitchell Falls walk, an optional helicopter transfer is available to the top of the falls (at an additional cost). You’ll still be accompanied by an Outback Spirit guide for a relaxed exploration of this remarkable site.* Passenger weight restrictions apply.

  12. 12

Ngauwudu (Mitchell Plateau) - Faraway Bay

Begin the day with an unforgettable scenic flight over the Kimberley coastline, soaring above Admiralty Gulf and Vansittart Bay before landing at Faraway Bay — the northernmost lodge in Western Australia.

Faraway Bay is an award-winning coastal lodge nestled on a rocky hilltop overlooking the turquoise Timor Sea. Located 280 kilometres north-west of Kununurra, this far north area of Western Australia is a remote and spellbinding part of the Kimberley. With King George Falls only a short boat trip away, this unique wilderness retreat offers a not-to-be-forgotten experience.

Later, gather with fellow travellers for sunset drinks before dinner at the spectacular Eagle Lodge. Meals: B.L.D

Please note: Weight limits apply to all scenic flights, with 120 kg being the maximum upper limit per person.

Note: Due to limited accommodation availability, your Outback Spirit crew will not travel with you to Faraway Bay. The friendly staff at Faraway Bay will be there to look after you.

  13. 13

    King George Falls Marine Adventure

After waking up to birdsong and breakfast made with produce from the Ord River region, head off with the lodge's expert skipper and guides for an unforgettable marine adventure to one of Western Australia’s most iconic natural wonders – King George Falls.

The King George River is one of WA’s most magnificent treasures, famous for its enormous twin waterfalls that stand over 70m high and descend into the Timor Sea. From a cultural point of view, the river is highly significant to the Balanggarra people. To them, the Falls are the male and female Wunkurr (Rainbow Serpents).

Weather and tide permitting, travel along the coast past Koolama Bay, where the merchant vessel Koolama was bombed during World War II - a powerful story of survival, mutiny, and endurance. From here, journey upriver, dwarfed by towering red cliffs, and edge towards the falls for a truly exhilarating ‘shower’ beneath their thundering cascade.

At the entrance of the King George River, you can’t help but feel dwarfed by the towering red rocky cliffs rising high above. From here, meander upriver to the incredible Falls, and if conditions allow, you’ll be able to take an invigorating waterfall shower as the boat edges to within metres of the rock face. With plenty of time to soak up the spellbinding Falls, then make way back to the lodge. Enjoy some fishing on the way and keep an eye out for other marine life, including crocodiles, dolphins, dugongs and manta rays to name just a few. Meals: B.L.D

Note: In the event weather or tides prevent access to the King George River, your guides will adjust the itinerary to explore equally impressive nearby waterfalls and coastal locations.

  14. 14

    Scenic Flight to Darwin

Leaving the Kimberley behind, take a breathtaking flight back to Darwin, passing over the cascading King George Falls and the vast Joseph Bonaparte Gulf. Upon arrival, enjoy a few hours of free time before coming together for a final dinner, reflecting on the incredible journey shared. Meals: B.L.D

  15. 15

    Darwin

As the adventure concludes, you have the option to join a guided town tour, including a visit to the Defence of Darwin Experience at East Point, or spend the morning at your leisure. Your transfer will be arranged to suit your departing flight or extended stay in Darwin. Meal: B
